Buying Soil Drills? Easy Online Ordering - Direct Delivery
Ground drills
Soil drills are especially suitable for drilling into the ground, for example to install posts. Avoid digging a large hole, which you then have to backfill. Instead, the auger works very efficiently and also does not have to be expensive.
Our self-forged steel augers are top quality, easy to use and also very strong. That means you can drill into practically any type of soil with a twist. So do you want to erect a fence, is it about a floating decking or anything else you want to install posts for? The soil auger should not be missing, to drill very specifically into the ground.
How does an auger work?
An auger works extremely simply:
- Determine the place to drill
- Measure out the place in the garden where you want to drill. Do this accurately to drill a hole in the ground in the right place.
- Make a turning movement
- Use the handles on the auger to make a (large) rotating movement. With this movement, the auger will drill into the ground.
- Let the auger do the work
- Use the design of the auger to let the auger do the work. A little pressure is allowed, but the auger should drill its way down.
Tip: sure you are doing the soil drilling deep enough? Or avoid going too deep? Use a bit of tape and stick it around the rod, at the level where you are deep enough into the ground. It is the easiest landmark for drilling just deep enough.
Post drill: holes in the ground
You can use the soil drill in a number of different ways. For example, it is an ideal post drill. Unlike with an excavator or shovel, there is no need to dig a wide hole. The sides would always collapse and refill the hole, requiring you to remove a lot of soil to get deep enough into the ground.
The auger allows you to drill a hole for a post without having to remove the rest of the soil around it. Ground drills work very efficiently and practically that way, taking much less time and energy.
