Buy professional fertilisers online?

Feeding your lawn and border plants? Consider fertilising the growing and flowering (lawn) plants in your garden with professional fertiliser. With a professional (lawn) fertiliser, you provide everything that grows and flourishes with a tailor-made mix of nutrients.

What are professional fertilisers?

Professional fertilisers are specially formulated fertilisers that contain many trace elements in addition to the main NPK nutrients that have an enhancing effect on everything that grows and flourishes in the garden. The distinguishing feature of a professional fertiliser compared to a standard lawn fertiliser lies in the composition and structure of the added nutrients. In addition, professional fertilisers owe their name to the fact that they are widely used by gardeners and landscapers.

Types of professional fertilisers

There are many types of professional fertilisers available. They can be divided into fertilisers for the lawn and fertilisers for plants in borders and ornamental gardens. We have listed the varieties that fall under these for you.

Meadow fertiliser

One form of professional fertiliser is meadow manure. This is a type of fertiliser which contains a specific formula of which you will not easily find a comparable fertiliser. Pastures have to meet many specific requirements. A lot is asked of the grass. The cattle that use a meadow, for example, must be able to graze the grass short. A meadow manure ensures a quick growth spurt for the grass, so there is enough to eat all year round for cows, horses, sheep and other small animals.

Fruit and ornamental plant manure

Fruit and ornamental crops and plants are also picky when it comes to fertilising them. In both cases, they perform best when fertilised with a slow-release fertiliser that usually contains just a little less nitrogen and more phosphate and potassium. Spreading a professional fertiliser that not only nourishes the plant or crop but also activates soil life is desirable. That is why we have special fertilisers in our range for fruit and ornamental plants.

Border fertiliser

Plants in the border also need fertiliser. And there is no better way to do that with a professional fertiliser. Good soil forms the basis of healthy development of border plants. You can improve the soil by spreading cow manure pellets. Applying a fertiliser is also part of maintaining the flowering plants in the border. Professional border fertilisers meet the specific nutritional needs of certain border plants.

Lawns and sports fields fertiliser

Are you planning to fertilise your lawn? Or would you like to take your sports club's lawn to the next level? You can do so with professional lawn and sports fields manure. It is crucial to fertilise lawns and sports fields, which are played on every day. With a balanced fertiliser, you form a rock-solid turf that is less susceptible to fungal infestations and other grass diseases. Increase sporting performance with professional fertiliser!

How do I choose the right professional fertiliser?

Which professional fertiliser is best to use depends entirely on the spreading purpose. For example, there are fertilisers available for lawns, meadows and ornamental plants in borders. If you want to fertilise a meadow, you will naturally choose meadow fertiliser. The same applies to professional lawn fertilisers. However, you have more choice here. For instance, there are specific fertilisers for spring and autumn. Triferto N23 fertiliser/nitrogen fertiliser is an example of a typical spring fertiliser. This slow-acting fertiliser provides an even nutrient flow that lasts for as long as four months. DCM lawn fertiliser autumn is the textbook example of an autumn fertiliser. This professional fertiliser is rich in potassium. This nutrient hardens your turf. So your lawn or sports field will survive the winter unscathed.

How do you use professional fertilisers?

Professional fertilisers are best spread with a spreader. It is important that the fertiliser granules are evenly distributed over the spreading surface. Check in advance what dosage you need to maintain and adjust the spreader accordingly. We recommend using professional lawn fertiliser twice a year. Once in spring and once in autumn. Most ornamental plants in the border only need to be fertilised once a year. This fertilisation is best carried out in early spring.

What is the difference between normal fertiliser and professional fertiliser?

What is striking about professional fertilisers is the spreading recommendation. With a professional fertiliser, you can often fertilise a much larger area than with a normal fertiliser. Take DCM's professional lawn fertiliser, for example. For comparison, take DCM Vital Green and the normal lawn fertiliser Culterra Green. Both fertilisers are suitable for fertilising the lawn. But see the difference here: where you can spread 250 square metres with Culterra's lawn fertiliser, DCM's professional fertiliser can work on about 500 (!) square metres.
