The BG4 mixture is a rock-solid pasture grass composed of grasses from the official variety list. With a composition of Timothy and English ryegrass, it forms a palatable, textured and hardy pasture. It also ensures rapid emergence with a dense sward. The grasses in the mixture are also highly resistant to grass diseases such as crown rust. This virtually guarantees that livestock can always enjoy fresh and healthy grass.
For what purposes can I use the Barenbrug BG4 mixture?
The BG4 mixture is a grass mixture suitable for all soil types. Its composition of Timothy and Ryegrass ensures early emergence after winter and rapid germination and establishment. In addition, it is enormously textured and palatable. This makes BG4 highly suitable for forage production and hay making. Also, thanks to its good treading tolerance and smooth growth rate, it is highly suitable for medium grazing.
What are the characteristics of the Barenbrug BG4 mixture?
- Extra tasty and rich in structure
- Good disease resistance against e.g. crown rust
- Hardy with early emergence after winter
- Fast germination and establishment
- Good treading tolerance
- Suitable for all soils
- Ideal for hay making, forage production and medium grazing
How do I sow the Barenbrug BG4 mixture?
The Graze BG4 mixture is suitable for both sowing and overseeding. We recommend and seeding density of 45 to 55 kilograms of grass seed per hectare. A 15-kilogram pack is therefore sufficient for ±3,000 m².
How do I maintain the Barenbrug BG4 mixture?
During the growing season, the grass can be regularly grazed. If the mixture is used for hay or forage production, it can be mown at least two to four times a year during the growing season, depending on the desired quantity and quality. The grass can also be fertilised about two to three times a year to stimulate growth.
